My name is Anthony Kumar, I’m 30 years old and I live in Amstelveen. I work as an online marketeer for different companies throughout the world.
Besides dancing my hobbies are Squash and travelling.

Getting in touch with Bachata

In 2012 I went on holiday to Cuba, where I got to know Cuban Salsa. After my trip to Cuba, I looked for a salsa school in Amsterdam and took classes there. After a while I founded that salsa wasn’t my real passion. And looked for something else.
I liked the group Aventura and decided to take Bachata classes. At the classes got to know a lot of people with same passion. We decided to rent dance studios to practice every week, to get better and went to Bachata parties together. We also went to all the Bachata workshops in the Netherlands en took classes at various dance schools.

After that I went to Bachata congresses abroad as well. There I found out that there were a lot of challenging combinations and that the level was much higher than the classes and workshops I had in the Netherlands. After that I came to the conclusion that you will never finish learning and that that you can always improve your own technique

What I love from Bachata

Love the lyrics about love, hate and heartbreaks. Besides, it also triggers my creativity while adjusting my tempo, level and styles based on the music I hear and the partner I dance with.

My goal in teaching

At parties in the Netherlands I found out that different Bachata styles are not danced yet. Therefore I want to teach people these different colors of Bachata and the dance methods, so that people can adjust their styles to the music and execute them perfectly.
